Iran has decided to open its religious and cultural facilities by easing restrictions which was issued to tackle the spread of coronavirus in the country.

All museums and historical sites in the country will be opened next Sunday to coincide with the Muslim holy festival Eid-ul-Fitr.

President Hassan Rouhani made the remarks in a speech broadcast on state television on Saturday.

He said all religious places will be opened from next Monday. The decision comes in the wake of easing the sanctions imposed in Iran in response to the coronavirus epidemic.

Earlier last week, Rouhani said religious places would be open for 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the afternoon. However, he said that those places will remain closed in the areas where the ban is still in force.
