India’s fight for Gold ended with 5-2 defeat in semifinal

India lost 5-2 to Belgium in the semifinals of the hockey event at the Tokyo Olympics. Through this, India’s fight for Gold has stopped. They will now fight for the Bronze in this event.
Alexander Hendrickx scored a hat trick for Belgium in the semi-final. Belgium’s Loick Luypaert scored a great goal from the penalty corner in the 2nd minute of the game.
India, on the other hand, did not take time to turn the table around. They put pressure on Belgium by scoring two goals within two minutes. Harmanpreet scored from the penalty corner in the 11th minute and then Mandeep Singh scored in the 13th.
Belgium’s Hendrickx scored from the penalty corner in the 19th minute. The second quarter ended in a 2-2 draw. Neither team scored in the third quarter. However, in the fourth and last quarter, Belgium won.
Hendrickx scored the team’s third and second goal in the 49th minute. Four minutes later, he completed his hat-trick with a 4-2 lead for Belgium. Belgium won the match 5-2 in the 60th minute with a goal from Dohmen. They also confirmed the ticket for the final.
