Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has written a letter to Facebook Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mark Zuckerberg to ban ‘Islamophobic’ content on its platform.
On Sunday, Imran Khan posted an open letter on Twitter, said, growing Islamophobia was encouraging extremism and violence worldwide, especially through social media platforms such as Facebook.
The Pakistani government informed the media on Sunday. Islamabad also posted the letter on Twitter.
I appreciate your move to ban any post criticizing or questioning the Holocaust, he added.
However, today we see similar things happening through Facebook against Islam in different parts of the world. I urge you to impose similar restrictions on ‘Islamophobic’ content. Stop spreading hatred against Islam through Facebook, Imran Khan concluded.
