IU resumes evening courses

The authorities of Islamic University (IU) decided to resume evening courses at the university.

The decision was taken at 116th academic council meeting, held at the conference room of the university’s administration building with vice-chancellor of Islamic University Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari in the chair, said sources at IU registrar office on Tuesday.

‘We have decided to resume the evening courses keeping some strict conditions on it,’ said IU vice-chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari.

A monitoring cell was formed to monitor each department of the university, he added.

Pro-vice-chancellor Professor M Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer Professor M Selim Toha, acting registrar SM Abdul Latif, chairmen and professors of different departments were, among others, present at the meeting.

On October 2, 2018, the university authorities stopped the evening courses considering the demand of its general students at the 242nd syndicate meeting.

On February 25, IUTA demanded reinstatement of its evening courses.
