With the coronavirus outbreak bringing the world to a standstill, sporting events across the world have either been postponed or cancelled and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is now looking at the October-November window to host the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). But the move can only be possible if the ICC decides to postpone the men's T20 World Cup that is to be held in October.

Speaking to IANS, a BCCI official said that while there have been talks with regards to hosting the IPL in the October-November window, it will only be possible if the World T20 to be played in Australia from October 18 to November 15 is postponed.

The BCCI official added, "The situation is difficult at this moment. Everything is under lockdown. Australia has said it will not allow anyone to enter their country for next six months. Maybe the situation might be normal in the meantime. If the ICC postpones the Twenty20 World Cup and the situation improves, then October-November is the best time to host the IPL."

The T20 to be played in Australia from October 18 to November 15 and Bangladesh will have to overcome first round to get access into the main competition.

Bangladesh will play in Group B along with Namibia, Netherlands and Scotland in the first round.
