Due to the effect of cyclone Yaas, water has flowed in the rivers of Pirojpur above the danger level of 10 cm, as a result, about 100 villages have been inundated by the tidal waters of Kacha, Sandhya, Baleshwar and Kaliganga rivers in the district.

Houses, shops in Majher Char of Mathbaria upazila and Indurkani upazila were flooded by the tidal water through the broken part of the embankment. Many have taken refuge in nearby shelters as the water level has risen above normal.
