France vs Germany match was considered to be the most contesting match of the group stage of the current EURO 2020, however, that was seen in the field. France saw the only goal – a mistake from Germany’s Mats Hummels in the middle of the match. With that lead, Mbappe-Benzema has made a good start in the UEFA EURO 2020.
France, the runners-up of last EURO, won the Group F match 1-0 on Tuesday night at the Allianz Arena in Munich. For the first time in the history of the Euros, Germany lost their first match.
Germany held the ball for about 80 percent of the match. They have also made more strong attacks. But his opponents, France, have rarely seen to attack the German camp.
Although the German players took 10 shots for the goal, only one was on target. Franch, on the other hand, took 4 shots and had only one goal target.
The pace was enough in the first half of the match. The two teams also attacked and counter-attacked. German’s Hummels made the ultimate mistake in the 20th minute. Paul Pogba got a great cross and Lucas Hernandez extended the ball towards Kylian Mbappe in the D-box. Hummels tried to send the ball out over the crossbar. Failed to do so, the ball goes into their own net.
Later, attacks of both teams increased, however, no one saw any goal at the end of the match. In the 66th minute, Mbappe sent the ball into the net with a curved shot but it was canceled due to offside. Karim Benzema made the same mistake in the end.
In the end, France left the field with 3 valuable points, mistaking from the opponent. In the other match of the day, last year’s champions Portugal defeated Hungary 3-0 with a pair of goals from Cristiano Ronaldo.
France will play their next match against Hungary next Saturday. Germany will face Portugal on the same day.
