Huge gathering in Syed Ashraf's Janaza

The second namaz-e-janaza of Awami League Presidium member and Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraf was held at the historical Sholakia of Kishoreganj. All walks of people gather here to attain his janaza.

The janaza of late Syed Ashraful Islam was held at Eidgah ground at Sholakia at 12 noon on Sunday.

Syed Ashraf's body will be taken from Kishoreganj to his native place Mymensingh. Here his 3rd janaza will be held. Later his body will be brought to Dhaka in the afternoon. Then he will be buried next to the Banani graveyard. 

Earlier, the ambulance from the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Himalaya was brought to the Parliament Square premises at 9:30 am for first Namaz-e-janaza at the South Plaza of Parliament House at 10:30 am. Here, President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and cabinet members were present. From there, his body was brought to Kishoreganj by helicopter.
 
Syed Ashraf became ill since his wife died on 24 October 2017. He was suffering from lung cancer. Due to illness, he took leave from parliament on September 18 last year. In this situation, Syed Ashraf won from Kishoreganj-1 constituency in the eleventh parliamentary election under the boat symbol.
