Ashraful Islam Alam alias Hiro Alam's nomination papers for contesting in the parliamentary election from Bogura-4 (Kahalu-Nandigram) constituency has been rejected.

Nandigram Upazila Election Officer Ashraf Hossain confirmed the matter on Sunday.

'Independent candidate should take signature from one percent of the total voters in his constituency. It has been found that the list of voters' signature submitted by Hero Alam was fake,' he said.

Hero Alam submitted his nomination papers as an independent candidate after not getting Jatiya Party (JP) nomination.

On Wednesday (November 28), he submitted the nomination paper to Nandigram Upazila Assistant Returning Officer and UNO Ms. Sharmin Akhter as an independent candidate for the Bogra-4 (Kahalu-Nandigram) constituency.
