Hefazat leader Mamunul placed on 3-day remand

Hefazat leader Mamunul Haque has been remanded for three days for questioning in a case filed over sabotage in Narayanganj.

The police bureau of investigation (PBI) remanded him in custody for three days. Earlier, he was placed on 15 days remand in different mayhem cases.

Mamunul Haque was the former joint secretary general of the defunct committee of Hefazat-e-Islam.

He has been remanded in a case of sabotage including burning a car at Siddhirganj signboard of Narayanganj on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway during the strike of Hefazat-e-Islam on April 28.

PBI Superintendent of Police Monirul Islam confirmed that Mamunul Haque has been remanded for three days for questioning.

Narayanganj court police inspector Asaduzzaman said the court had earlier granted a three-day remand to Mamunul Haque following PBI's application for questioning in a sabotage case.
