Hefazat-e-Islam Amir Allama Shafi passes away

Hefazat-e-Islam Amir Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi has passed away on Friday evening at Asgar Ali Hospital in the capital (Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un). He was 104-years-old.
The news was confirmed by Anas Madani, son of Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi.
Earlier on Friday around 4:30 pm, Hefazat-e-Islam Amir Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi was brought to Dhaka due to his deteriorating physical condition. Later, he breathed his last at Asgar Ali Hospital in the evening.
According to multiple sources at Hathazari Madrasa, Allama Shafi’s health condition suddenly deteriorated on Thursday evening. He was then taken to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH). He was later taken to Dhaka on Friday afternoon as his health condition deteriorated further.
The 104-year-old top Qaumi Alem of the country Allama Ahmed Shafi has been suffering from old age complications as well as diabetes, high blood pressure and breathing difficulties for a long time. As a result, he was often admitted to the hospital. In the last few months, Allama Shafi had to undergo treatment in Chattogram and Dhaka hospitals.
