At least 30 people were killed from floods created due to heavy rainfall for the last few days in the southwestern Indian state of Telangana.

According to NDTV, roads in various cities of the state were submerged into floodwater on Wednesday, cars on the roads were submerged and buildings were submerged. In Hyderabad alone, 15 people have died so far, including a two-month-old baby.

Military says a team has been deployed to carry out relief and rescue operations in the Bandhalaguda area of ​​the city. 

Heavy rains with thunderstorms started in Telangana from Monday night and continued for the next two days. 

A man was seen floating in the Barkas residential area of ​​Hyderabad. The two men who witness the scenary were unable to help him but to watch the scene.

Later, locals were able to rescue the man with the help of police, PTI reported.

A 49-year-old man was electrocuted while trying to remove water from a submerged house in Hyderabad's elite Banjara Hills area.

Many areas in Telangana were left without electricity due to heavy rains and waterlogging. Power supply to other parts was also cut off as part of precaution.

Thousands of acres of crops in the state have been submerged. Both the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the army have been called in to assist in the relief and rescue operation.

The Indian Army said it had deployed a column to conduct relief and rescue operations in the Bandhalaguda area of ​​the city. 

The NDRF said it had rescued more than a thousand people from Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts.

The Telangana government on Wednesday and Thursday declared a holiday in all government offices and non-government organizations, urging residents not to leave without urgent work.
