Heat wave sweeping over some regions

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Sunday predicted a mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Faridpur, Dinajpur, Nilphamari and Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and it may abate at some places.
The Met Office also forecasted rain or thundershowers at many places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.
"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Chattogram, Mymensingh, Barishal and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country," said a met office release this morning.
Besides, day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Country’s maximum temperature was recorded on Saturday at 37.6 degrees Celsius at Ishurdi and minimum temperature today 23.0 degrees Celsius at Feni.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6:00 am today was recorded 118 millimetres (mm) at Dhaka.
The sun sets at 6:44 PM today and rises at 5:11 AM tomorrow at Dhaka.
