Diego Maradona

Argentina great Diego Maradona turns 60 Friday. He was born on this day in 1960 in Argentina. The living legend has expressed his desire to score a goal with his right hand against England on his 60th birthday.

Iglesia Maradoniana, a religion created by the fans of Diego Maradona, was founded on October 30, 1998, in the city of Rosario, Argentina. It could be seen as a type of syncretism or as a religion, depending on what religious definition one chooses to use. Just as Jesus’ birthday is celebrated on December 25, Christmas, Maradona’s fans celebrate his birthday on October 30.

Maradona’s magic with the ball

Diego Armando Maradona — whose life is built on a wonderful combination of ups and downs, sometimes at the peak of success or sometimes lost in the abyss of failure. Maradona is the name of a colorful, gray, varied epic.

Diego Armando Maradona was born into a poor family in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He got a place in the national team at the age of only 17, however, did not get a place in the 1978 World Cup team because of his age. He scored 34 goals in 91 appearances for Albiceleste jersey. It is not enough for Napoli to win the league title twice or the UEFA Cup for the first and last time in his club career.

But why Maradona is called the “best of the best”, the best footballer of the century?

Argentina won the 1986 World Cup with the single performance of Maradona

The 1986 World Cup is different from all other World Cups, glorious only for Maradona. It is difficult to find an example of giving a World Cup gift in a single performance. There is no end to the discussion about the ‘Hand of God’ goal against England in the quarter-finals. The legend saw the best goal of the century in the same match.

In 1990, hot favorite Argentina reached the final under his leadership, however, Maradona is still regretting not being able to win the title for the second time in a row.

Maradona is a footballer who has been the victim of the foulest in the World Cup. He has been the victim of foul “53 times” in a record 23 matches against Italy.

But like the stigma of the moon, drug addiction and uncontrolled lifestyle have become a black mark in the career of this footballer. He banned in the 1994 World Cup in the dope test. Cocaine, Alcohol is the constant companion of this football great. Besides two heart attacks in the last 20 years, he has also suffered from diseases such as hepatitis and pneumonia.

Maradona is as “unsuccessful” as a coach than a successful footballer. His best achievement is to take responsibility for his own country. But Argentina’s dream journey to the 2010 World Cup came to a halt in the quarter-finals under Maradona.

He has also managed seven unnamed clubs since 1994. Maradona, lastly, is in charge of the first division club called Gimnasia in Argentina.

Coach Maradona

Like the exceptional lifestyle, Maradona’s wish for this year’s birthday is also strange where he hailed Messi and Ronaldo. “I scored against England with the left hand. I wish I could score one more goal with right hand this birthday,” said the football great Diego Maradona.

The football god is spending his 60th birthday alone. The living legend in self-isolation due to the bodyguard’s COVID symptoms. However, he is still in the minds of millions of football fans around the world, invisible celebrations going on in the writings of thousands of sports journalists.
