Two hand-bombs exploded at Noakhali Municipal Building on Sunday night.

Police said they could not confirm who is behind it or what cause of the blast, though two explosives were found at the scene on Monday morning and bloodstains were seen on the walls of the municipal building.

Shyamal Kumar Dutta, Secretary of the Municipal Council, said that three-night guards were in charge of the municipal building on Sunday night. One of them was staying in the guardroom at the time of the incident. One was near the car in the toilet and behind the building. The miscreants fled before they could rush to the scene, hearing the sound of a sudden explosion. In the morning, Municipal Mayor Shahid Ullah Khan Sohel informed the police after being informed about it.

Nobir Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Sudharam Model Police Station, said that the police had visited the spot after informed. The blood lying on the scene is believed to have fallen from the dog's body at night after watching footage of CC TV. It is being investigated as to who or what caused the incident.
