Hamid takes oath today as President for 2nd term

President Md Abdul Hamid will be sworn in as the President of Bangladesh for a second consecutive term on Tuesday evening as parliament unanimously decided to entrust him with the presidency for another tenure.
Abdul Hamid will take the oath of office as the 21st President making a new history as the President of Bangladesh for the second term.
The oath-taking ceremony will take place at 7:30 pm tomorrow, Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will administer his oath of office at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban, said President`s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin.
All necessary preparations were taken on the occasion, he added.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Chief Justice, former Presidents of the country, Judges, cabinet members, lawmakers, senior politicians, diplomats and other dignitaries are expected to be present there.
Earlier, Abdul Hamid was elected the President on April 22, 2013, and sworn in as the 20th President on April 24, 2013.
He took the responsibility of the President in-charge on March 14, 2013, while the then President Md Zillur Rahman was under treatment in Singapore. After the death of Zillur Rahman, he became the Acting President on March 20, 2013.
