Hales, Gayle's fifties guide Rangpur to chase 182

Rangpur Riders thumped Khulna Titans by 6 wickets after rapid fifties from CH Gayle (55 off 40), AD Hales (55 off 29) and a blistering 41 off 25 from AB de Villiers. Riders chased down Titans' 182 with 3-ball in hand.

Chasing the target, Rangpur got a flying start. As Gayle and Hales added 78-run in just 7.4 over. Hales went out to Yasir Shah scoring 55 off 29 with 3 sixes and 8 fours. 

Then AB de Villiers and Gayle made 43 in the 2nd wickets stand. Villiers went out to Mahmudullah scoring 41 off 25. 

After losing Villiers Gayle keep scoring shorts and made his first BPL fifty this session. Gayle went out to 171/3. Then Mohammad Mithun also went out in the first ball of last over. Riders needed just 6 run in the last over. Roussouw finished the job hitting 6 in the 3rd ball of 20th over. 

Yasir Shah bagged 2 wickts for 47.

Earlier, Rangpur Riders won the toss and elected to bowl first. Khulna Titans set 182 runs target for against Rangpur Riders in the 25th match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) on Tuesday at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka.

Titans lost six wickets of Al-Amin, Junaid Siddique, Brandon Taylor, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mahmudullah, Ariful Haque.

Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 48 runs off 35 balls, Mahmudullah’s 29 runs off 20 balls, Taylor’s 32 runs off 20 balls, D Wiese’s unbeaten 35 runs only 15 balls help Titans scored 181 runs by losing six wickets.

For Rangpur Rider, Farhad Reza showed an outstanding performance by taking four wickets by giving 32 runs. Captain Masrafe Mortaza and Gsayle took one wicket each.
