HC expressed anger over Greenline’s apathy

To pay remaining compensation

The High Court has expressed anguish over the Greenline transport due to not paying the remaining compensation to the leg lost Russell Sarkar. At the same time, the High Court has given time bound to pay the remaining money to the private car driver Russell Sarkar, who lost his legs under the bus, till June 25. The court said it will order to take legal action it the remaining compassion wouldn’t be paid by within given time frame.

A bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahsan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader passed the order on Wednesday.

Expressing anger over the Greenline Transport Authority, the court said, do not think of our generosity as flexible. We will take our measures. That's what we need to do.

On April 28 last year, Greenline bus driver turned down the private car driver on the mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover following an altercation. On the spot, private driver Russell Sarker (23) left leg isolated.

Former MP of reserved seats Advocate Umm Kulsum Smriti filed the writ petition to the High Court.

Greenline transport ordered the Greenline Transport to pay a compensation of Tk 50 lakh to the Rasel. After the court’s order more than once, Greenline paid Tk 5 lakhs compensation on April 10. The court gave time till May 22 to pay the remaining money.
