HC bans laminated posters in city polls

The High Court on Wednesday has imposed a ban on laminated posters for the candidates of Dhaka City Corporation polls as the laminated objects are harmful to the environment.
At the same time, the City Corporation and the Election Commission have been directed to take effective steps to stop the manufacturing of laminated posters.
The High Court bench comprising Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostifizur Rahman passed the order after cognizance of a report of the National Daily regarding the harmful effects of laminated posters.
At the same time, the laminated posters that have been placed have been asked to remove them properly after the two city polls.
Lawyer Manoj Kumar brought the matter to the court. Deputy Attorney General Amit Talukder was present for the state.
