Natore Gurudaspur UNO Md. Tamal Hossain and his family have been infected with the coronavirus. His only four-year-old daughter Agata was also caught the high tempered fever. Her samples have been collected for the test.
Gurudaspur Upazila Health Complex Residential Medical Officer (RMO) Dr. Md. Rabiul Karim Shant said that the UNO was tested coronavirus positive last Saturday night. His wife was identified COVID-19 positive a week ago.
He added that coronavirus samples had been collected from the bodies of more than 600 people in the upazila during the last four months. The results of 35 people came positive in the test. However, no one has died so far in Gurudaspur.
In Natore, 18 people, including an upazila election officer and a bank official, have been diagnosed with coronavirus in the 24 hours last. The total number of COVID-19 patients in the district has stood at 282; according to the Civil Surgeon's Office in Natore.
According to the locals, it has been only a year since he joined the work. In the meantime, he has won the hearts of the people of Gurudaspur upazila.
While he was the executive magistrate of the district administration, he rushed to catch irregularities in the road and business establishments. After getting a promotion, he joined as AC land and from there as UNO of Gurudaspur.
UNO Tamal Hossain said, "As an administrative officer, “I am by the side of the people in danger of helpless people including mentally and physically handicapped, beggars and students." In addition to administrative work, ‘I have often stood by the side of many in my own initiative and in my own sense’, he added.
