The government is taking action to make wearing masks compulsory in other places including markets and shopping malls. Emergency operations will be conducted at any time.
In a briefing of the cabinet meeting at the secretariat on Monday, cabinet secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said he would take a tough stand against those who do not wear masks.
Earlier, a virtual cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The Prime Minister from Ganobhaban and the concerned ministers from the Cabinet Division in the Secretariat joined the meeting.
The cabinet secretary said that in many countries, especially in cold countries, the second phase of infection is taking place. Experts say that preparations should be made whether the second wave comes from the end of November or not. Massive preparation should have been taken. I have called an inter-ministerial meeting on Tuesday in this regard.
"The prime minister has said we should be prepared," he said. The Prime Minister has said that if the Second Wave comes, it will be an advantage for us if we are aware of the experience. He also instructed that the outbreak of a cold-related diseases like pneumonia, cold, fever or asthmatic problems may increase from the end of October or mid-November, so everyone should be prepared. If you are infected with these, get treatment. When Covid's second wave arrives, he asks them to prepare now for how to deal with it on the field.
Noting that everyone needs to use masks, he said, "If we don't use masks properly, it's difficult." Because experts say that wearing a mask on both sides is 95 to 98 percent safe. On the other hand, if you have a mask, it is 70 to 85 percent safe. But nothing will succeed if the mask is not worn. We have to inspire everyone for this. Must use a mask. Protection from the cold should be taken. If symptoms appear, go to the doctor.
The Ministry of Religion has been told to ensure the announcement during the Zohar and Maghrib prayers that, 'wearing masks is compulsory' in all mosques through the Islamic Foundation, which is a state welfare directive.
Campaigns to maintain hygiene have continued. The cabinet secretary also said that the mobile court is going on.
Asked if the government would go into shutdown again as before when the second phase of Corona started, Khandaker Anwarul Islam said, "We don't know what the level will be. We have to be prepared.
