The government has started implementing the 'No mask no service' policy. From now on, no service will be available in government or non-government organizations without masks.
Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam came up with the information after a cabinet meeting on Sunday afternoon at the Secretariate.
Earlier, a virtual cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The Prime Minister joined the meeting from Ganobhaban while the other members of the Cabinet attended from the Secretariat.
Khandaker Anwarul Islam said masks must be used in all institutions, hat-bazaars, shopping malls, schools, social or religious conferences. All organizations have been instructed, no mask no service.
"We have already given instructions to the divisional commissioners," he said. A big poster outside all government and private offices will be hung to aware of people.
The cabinet secretary added that the state order to wear masks at least twice after prayers should be issued in all mosques. I have also talked to the scholars and ulama, they also agree with that.
Noting that people will not be allowed to enter government institutions without wearing masks, he said, "We will talk concern people over the issue not only in government institutions but also non-government institutions and public transport." We will sit with the Secretary of Roads, Shipping and Railways tomorrow. I will make a decision there.
