Govt nothing to do for Khaleda: Quader

Awami League general secretary and road transport and labour minister Obaidul Quader said that the government has nothing to do with the participation of BNP leader Khaleda Zia in the 11th parliamentary elections.

Obaidul Quader said this after paying homage at the Banani graveyard on the occasion of the 65th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu son Sheikh Jamal on Saturday morning. 

Obaidul Quader said that the court will decide if she can take part in the next election. The government has nothing to do. The government will work in the light of the court order.

He said we have nothing to do with the release of Khaleda Zia. The court has sentenced her and when will they be released, it is upto the court.

On the issue of Tarique Rahman, the Awami League leader said, BNP does not want Tareq Rahman to return to the country and face politics and jail by being oppressed. He does not even have courage.

Among others, Awami League joint general secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, organizing secretary Enamul Haque Shamim were also present.
