Govt launches digital cattle market

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division has launched a digital cattle market for the purchase and sale of Qurbani animals for Eid-ul-Azha, keeping in mind the health and safety of the farmers and buyers during the prevailing situation of coronavirus outbreak in the country.

Here, buyers will have the opportunity to watch pictures, videos and live streaming of cattle weight at home. At the same time, there will be an opportunity to communicate directly with cattle traders, farmers. People can collect cattle from a specific place or based on home delivery.

According to sources in the ICT Division, the platform ‘Food for Nation’ was formed earlier under the initiative of Bangladesh Computer Council in coronavirus situation. In view of this, the initiative of Digital Hat has been taken under the banner of ‘Startup Bangladesh’ of Idea project.

About this, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak said the ‘Food for Nation’ platform is going to be the largest matchmaking digital hut in the country for Qurbani animals. This initiative is to save the farmers from economic loss and to protect the health of all. 

He urged farmers across the country to come to this platform.

Registration of cattle farmers, farm owners, and general livestock traders from all over the country has started for this largest digital market in the country. Free registration is available on the website.
