Govt decides to declare 2021 as Tourism Year

Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism Md. Mahbub Ali Said that initiative is being taken to declare 2021 as a tourism year on the occasion of 50 years of independence.

He said this while addressing a seminar on 'Bangladesh's Tourism: Opportunities and Challenges', jointly organized by Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry and Travel Magazine at Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on Saturday afternoon.

He said work is underway to declare next year as a tourism year for the golden jubilee of independence. After getting the consent of the Prime Minister, a detailed work plan will be adopted in this regard. 

Stating that a new horizon of tourism will be uncovered under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the Minister said that tourism is a competitive market, the more service you can provide, the more tourist will come. If you can ensure quality of service, tourism will develop. 

He said that what did not happen before it will happen now. Everything can be achieved if you have the will, the energy and the hard work. Bangladesh now raised head to the world today with the earnest will and actions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. So, if we work hard, it is possible to make visible changes in tourism.

Md. Mahbub Ali said that the development of tourism industry will now be ensured under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The percentage of recommendations of all stakeholders will be implemented. We will be branding all historical and archaeological installations including Ahsan Manzil, Lalbagh Fort, Chota Katra, Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban etc.
