Gopalganj road crash kills 2 motorcyclists, injures 26
Two motorcyclists were killed and 26 others injured in three separate road accidents in Gopalganj.
The accidents took place on Tuesday night in Bijoy Pasha, Chandradighaliya area of Sadar Upazila and Bhatiyapara of Kashiani Upazila of Gopalganj.
One of the deceased was identified as Habibur Rahman, resident of Tungipara upazila of Gopalganj. The injured were admitted to Gopalganj Hospital.
Bhanga highway police OC Md Ataur Rahman said that Habibur Rahman was returning to Gopalganj with a motorcycle. When he reached the Bijoy Pasha area, a truck rammed his vehicle, leaving him dead on the spot. Police later recovered the body and sent it to Gopalganj Hospital morgue.
Meanwhile, two riders on a motorcycle were heading towards Gopalganj city at around 10:30 pm. As soon as they reached Chandradighaliya area of Sadar Upazila, the motorcycle hit a lorry standing on the highway from behind after its driver lost control over the wheel.
One of the motorcycle riders was killed on the spot and another young man was injured in the accident.
On the other hand, a passenger bus heading towards Gopalganj collided with another passenger bus coming from the opposite direction, leaving 25 people injured. 20 seriously injured people among them have been admitted to the Gopalganj 250-bed hospital.
