Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BAJUS) has decided to hike the prices of gold in the country’s market by Tk 2,333 per bhori.

Bajus decided to increase the price by holding an emergency meeting on Monday.

A meeting of the executive committee has decided to increase the prices of gold by Tk 200 per gram, increasing the gold price to Tk 2,333.

According to Bajus’ decision, the price of 22-carat bhori (11.664 grams) of gold will be increased by Tk 2,333 and sold at Tk 71,443 from today. 21-carat gold will be sold at Tk 68,293, 18-carat gold at Tk 59,544 and traditional gold at Tk 49,022 per bhori.

The decision to hike in gold price was taken at the emergency meeting of Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BAJUS)

Earlier in March, the gold prices were reduced by Tk 3,557 in two phases. Since March 10, the price of good quality gold, i.e., 22-carats per bhori (11.64 grams) of gold has been reduced by Tk 2,041 and fixed at Tk 69,110. 21-carat gold is priced at Tk 65,960, 18-carat gold is priced at Tk 57,211 and traditional gold priced at Tk 46,890 per bhori.

Gold was also sold at this price in the morning. However, the new price will be effective from the afternoon.
