Global coronavirus cases fall, 4,133 new deaths

The number of daily coronavirus infections worldwide has dropped slightly in the past 24 hours. About 230,000 people have been infected with the virus in the last 24 hours. Besides, 4,133 people have died during the same period. India has recorded the highest number of deaths and cases.

According to Worldometer data, worldwide death toll from the pandemic reached 969,367 and the number of cases climbed to 31,490,644. While more than 23,120,798 people have already recovered.

In the last 24 hours, India reported 1,056 coronavirus deaths and 74,493 new cases. With the latest, the number of deaths toll from the virus rose to 88,965 and cases to 5,562,663 in the South Asian country.

Latin American country Brazil has recorded the second-highest death toll from the pandemic as 455 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours. With the latest, the deaths toll rose to 137,350 while the total number of infected rose to 4,560,083.

The United States has reported 388 deaths in the past 24 hours, taking the tally from the pandemic to 204,506. The country is still at the top in coronavirus deaths and infections.

The deadly coronavirus spread from Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, China in December 2019. The virus has so far infected 215 countries and territories around the world.
