Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has instructed to temporarily postpone sample tests at four private laboratories in the capital for allegedly giving false reports of coronavirus.
The temporarily closed laboratories are – Bijoy Sarani’s CSBF Health Center, Bangla Motor’s Stemz Health Care, Purana Paltan’s Al Jami Diagnostic Center and Medinova Medical Services Limited’s Mirpur branch.
This was stated in a directive sent to the institutions by the DGHS on Thursday.
The guidelines ask laboratories to halt collecting coronavirus samples from booths outside their own buildings. The directive says that the action will be taken after getting the initial truth of the allegation that the report is being given “falsely after testing the samples”.
It has been said several allegations have been found against several institutions recently including giving fake Covid-19 reports to overseas passengers. The DGHS has found the truth of these allegations. Such immoral activities are a threat to public health and have tarnished the image of the country.
According to the directive, all types of sample collection centers set up outside the labs’ own buildings to collect Covid-19 samples for overseas passengers will remain halted until further notice.
