Gill led KKR to win over Hyderabad

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) backed into the business, lost their opening match to defending champions Mumbai Indians, as they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets in Abu Dhabi relying on Gill and Morgan’s unbroken 92 for the fourth wicket after an impressive performance from their varied bowling attack, which restricted the Sunrisers to 142 for 4.
KKR’s win, to their first IPL victory of the campaign and left Sunrisers Hyderabad winless, was followed by a knock of 70 from Shubman Gill and Eoin Morgan's quick-fire unbeaten 42.
Gill completed his fifth IPL fifty from 42 balls to make 70 with two sixes and five fours in his 62-ball knock.
Sunrisers were limited to 142-4 from their 20 overs while they elected to bat first after winning the toss. However, Sunil Narine and Pat Cummins bowled tight lines against David Warner and Jonny Bairstow, not allowing the two batsmen to assert their dominance. With following impressive bowling show the KKR were capable of stopping the opposition at 142.
Kolkata reached their target of 143 with two overs to spare as Gill and Morgan added an unbroken 92 for the fourth wicket.
