Germany has passed test so far: Angela Merkel

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has praised the conscious behavior of the German citizens in the situation caused by the coronavirus. She thinks that Germany has passed the test so far. Nevertheless, she warned the battle is far from over.
“We have so far passed this test quite well. All of us together. An overwhelming majority of the people in our country have let us be guided by caution, reason and responsibility for others,” Merkel said in her weekly video message, published on Saturday.
“We have achieved a lot in these four months. I could also say that we have saved ourselves a lot,” Merkel added. However, she warned against underestimating the risks.
According to the international survey website Worldometer, 183,149 people have been infected with coronavirus so far in Germany. Of them 8,598 died and 164,900 recovered.
According to the Robert Koch Institute of Disease Control and Research in Germany, the total number of deaths in the country is less than one-fifth of the total number of infections. The number of new patients identified daily has also turned bellow thousands.
