Gazette issued extending lockdown

The government has issued a gazette notification extending the ongoing countrywide lockdown till May 16 to control the surge of coronavirus cases in the country.
The Cabinet division issued the notification on Wednesday.
According to the notification, public transport services would resume under some conditions. In districts, public transports must only operate on the periphery; in city corporation areas, buses must not operate beyond designated areas. Naval transport and train services will remain suspended as before. The new restrictions will take effect on Thursday.
Shopping malls and markets will remain open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, maintaining health rules. Markets will be shut down if they fail to maintain the health guidelines, the notification says.
Meanwhile, officials and employees of all government, non-government, autonomous offices and banks, financial institutions will not be allowed to leave their area of work during the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday
