Gas service will remain suspended across the country from June 14 to 16 due to disruption in the delivery of imported liquefied natural gas over hostile weather at sea.

Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company said this in a press release today.

Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd said consumers may experience disruption or low pressure in gas supply from June 14-16 as unloading of LNG from ships is being disrupted due to inclement weather.

"This creates disturbance in supply of 400 million cubic feet of gas per day (mmcfd) to the transmission system", it said, adding that consumers of different groups including households, industries, power plants and commercial users may suffer.

Titus Managing Director Ali Iqbal. Nurullah said LNG could not enter due to hostile weather. According to the weather forecast, the weather will remain bad for the next three days. As a result, LNG will not be able to come down. That is why there will be low gas pressure in the next three days.

Expressing deep sorrow he further said that it would be very painful for the people. But there is nothing to do amid inclement weather.
