Gas supply in two districts to shut down on Friday

The gas supply will be shut down for seven and a half hours in two districts of the country for gas line maintenance. At the same time, even if the gas supply is not shut in some areas of Dhaka, the pressure will remain low.
The gas supply will be halted from 4:30 am to 12:00 pm on Friday.
Mir Mohammad Aslam Uddin, deputy chief information officer of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, confirmed the matter.
He said gas transmission company GTCL and distribution company Titas Gas would replace valves at Haripur in Narayanganj. Therefore, Titas will not be able to supply gas to a large area in Narayanganj and Munshiganj from 4:30 am to 12:00 pm on Friday.
Even gas supply to all classes of customers will be shut down in Narayanganj city area on the west side of Shitalakshya River, Siddhirganj, Adamjee EPZ, Godnail, Pagla, Fatullah and Narayanganj BSIC areas, he also said.
Meanwhile, the gas supply in the area from Panchabati to Muktarpur in Narayanganj, Munshiganj Sadar, Munshiganj BSIC, Rekabi Bazar and surrounding areas, Kanchpur, Haripur, Kutubpur, Madanpur, Bandar area, Keodala, Nangalband and surrounding areas on the east side of Shitalakshya will also be shut down for customers.
On the other hand, gas pressure will be less in Dhaka’s Keraniganj and Shyampur areas. Titas Gas Company, a gas distribution company in and around Dhaka, has “sincerely” apologized for the “temporary inconvenience” to customers.
