Gang rape in MC College: Now Rajan arrested

Another accused named Rajan Ahmed has been arrested in a case filed over the gang rape of a woman after tying up her husband at the dormitory of Murari Chand (MC) College in Sylhet. 

A team of RAB-9 arrested him from the Kachua Nayatila area of  Fenchuganj in Sylhet around 1:00 am on Sunday. Another person named Ainul Islam was also arrested for helping Rajan to escape.

A source in RAB-9 Sylhet confirmed the matter. 

Confirming the matter, a source in RAB-9 Sylhet told that based on secret information, Rajan, who was an unknown accused in the gang rape case, was arrested from Fenchuganj.

Meanwhile, five accused were arrested in this shocking incident. Of these, four are accused and another is an unnamed accused in the case.

According to RAB and DB sources, another accused named Rajan, in the gang-rape case of a woman after tying up her husband at the dormitory of Murari Chand (MC) College in Sylhet, was hiding in a relative's house in Kachua Nayatila area of Fenjuganj upazila. Later, Rajan and his accomplice Ainul were arrested around 1:00 pm. He was brought to Sylhet after his arrest.

Earlier on Sunday, Police have arrested Saifur Rahman and Arjun Laskar, accused in the case, was arrested.

Earlier on Friday evening, a couple from Shibbari area of South Surma visited the MC College campus. At that time, Saifur and his associates — Rabiul, Tarek, Rony, Saifur, Mahfuj, and Arjun — took the woman and her husband to the nearby college hostel, where they tied up the husband and raped the woman. On information, police rescued the rape victim and her husband and sent the victim to the One-stop Crisis Centre at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.

The victim’s husband filed a case with the city’s Shahparan police station. Six persons and three unidentified persons have been accused in the case.
