Gang rape in MC College: Arjun arrested after Saifur

Arjun Laskar, an accused in a case filed over the gang rape of a woman after tying up her husband at the dormitory of Murari Chand (MC) College in Sylhet, has been arrested from Habiganj on Sunday morning.
Earlier in the day, Saifur Rahman, the prime accused in the case, was arrested from Sunamganj.
Arjun Lashkar is the son of Kanu Laskar of Atgram Maricha area of Zakiganj upazila of Sylhet.
The other accused in the case are - Saifur Rahman, son of Md Tahid Miah of Chandaipara in Sonapur of Balaganj upazila of Sylhet, Tarekul Islam alias Tarek, son of Rafiqul Islam of Umed Nagar village of Sunamganj Sadar upazila, Shah Md Mahbubur Rahman Rony, son of Shah Md Jahangir Miah of Bagunipara village of Habiganj Sadar upazila, Rabiul Islam, a resident of Barangadipur village of Dirai upazila in Sunamganj and Mahfuzur Rahman Masum, a resident of Gachbari area of Kanaighat Upazila.
Four of them except Tarek and Rabiul are students of the college.
The victim's husband filed the case with the Sylhet Metropolitan Police's Shahparan police station on Saturday morning, naming six people. Three more unnamed persons have been accused in the case.
Earlier on Friday evening, the couple from Shibbari area of South Surma visited the MC College campus. At that time, Saifur and his associates - Rabiul, Tarek, Rony, Saifur, Mahfuj, and Arjun - took the woman and her husband to the nearby college hostel, where they tied up the husband and raped the woman. On information, police rescued the rape victim and her husband and sent the victim to the One-stop Crisis Centre at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
