Friendship between two countries is going forward: Doraiswami

Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Vikram Kumar Doraiswami said that the friendship of Bangladesh and India was founded in 1971 and the partnership between the two countries is going forward.
He said this on Monday while inaugurating the renovated Media Centre at Jatiya Press Club (JPC) in Dhaka.
The envoy said New Delhi emphasis on ensuring best possible understanding between India and Bangladesh.
Mentioning the Bangladesh media is vibrant, free, colourful and very vocal, Doraiswami said, “Media in Bangladesh is our (India) important partner in many senses.”
“Your (media) role is very important (in this regards) and India always place great attention to Bangladesh media,” he said.
Terming the Jatiya Press Club is a place that shows the spirit of Bangladesh, he said India value and respect the independence and story of struggle of Bangladesh.
Indian high commission in Dhaka supported the Jatiya Press Club in upgrading and expanding facilities at its media centre.
Jatiya Press Club President Farida Yasmin, General Secretary Elias Khan, Joint Secretary Mainul Alam and Treasurer Shahed Chowdhury were present along with senior members of the club.
Farida Yasmin expressed gratitude to the Indian High Commission’s support in upgrading the Media Centre and said the ties between the two friendly countries have been expanding on all fronts.
