Four-truck collisions in Sirajganj, 18 injured

The truck that met with the accident
At least 18 people, including two helpers, were injured in separate collisions among four trucks at Kamarkhanda Upazila in Sirajganj within an hour. Among the injured, 16 were construction workers.
The incidents took place at Kashem intersection and Talukdar Bazar areas of Bangabandhu Bridge-West Link Highway around 10:00 am and 11:00 am on Thursday.
Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Shahinur Kabir of Kamarkhand Circle said when a truck heading towards North Bengal from Dhaka reached Kashem intersection area around 10:00 am, it collided head-on with another truck carrying construction workers coming from the opposite direction on the Elenga-Rangpur four-lane road. 16 construction workers were injured in the accident. They were rescued and admitted to Bongamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital. Three of the injured have been shifted to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
On the other hand, another truck collided with a sand-laden truck coming from the opposite direction in the Talukdar market area around 11:00 am. The helpers of the two trucks were injured. They were rescued and admitted to Bongamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital.
