Four of a family among 5 killed as truck hits autorickshaw

Five people including four members of a family were killed as a truck rammed an autorickshaw carrying them at Jaintiapur Upazila in Sylhet. 

The accident took place at Nurpur Ferry Ghat area of ​​the Upazila around 6:30 am on Sunday. 

The deceased were identified as Sadia Begum, wife of late Jamal Ahmed of Rupcheng village in Jaintiapur Upazila, her four-month-old child Shahadat Hossain, 7-year-old daughter Sabia Begum and sister of late Jamal Ahmed Habibunnesa and CNG autorickshaw driver Hossain Ahmed of Pakhibil village. 

Confirming the matter, Jaintiapur Police Station OC Golam Dastagir Ahmed said a speeding truck rammed the autorickshaw on the highway near Nurpur Ferry Ghat area, leaving four members of the same family dead on the spot. The autorickshaw driver died on the way to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
