Four children jailed in rape case: Magistrate apologized

Senior Judicial Magistrate Enayet Ullah, who directed to send four children of Jashore Child Development Center to jail for raping a 6-year-old child in Bakerganj, Barisal, has appeared in the High Court and sought unconditional pardon.
On Sunday, he appeared before the High Court bench of Justice Md. Mojibur Rahman Mia and Justice Mohiuddin Shamim and apologized in writing.
The four children also appeared in court with their parents at the time. Besides, the OC of Bakerganj police station of Barisal also appeared.
Earlier, the High Court had summoned the concerned senior judicial magistrate of Barisal for sending the four children to jail. At the same time, the High Court directed the OC of Bakerganj Police Station to present the four children and their parents in the High Court on October 11.
According to him, they appeared on Sunday morning. Meanwhile, a Barisal judge granted bail to four children after learning of the High Court order.
On October 6, four children were charged with raping a six-year-old child. Police arrested four children in the case on the same day.
The next day, on October 7, Barisal Senior Judicial Magistrate Enayet Ullah issued an order to send the four children to the Jashore Poolerhat Child Development Center.
