Forthcoming HSC exam: Decision on Thursday

All types of educational institutions in the country have been remaining shut since late March due to the coronavirus outbreak. And because of this, this year's higher secondary examination is also stuck. However, the chairmen of the different Board of Education have taken the initiative to decide on the examination.

The inter-board meeting as a part of the initiative to decide on the issue of stuck examination is going be sit on next Thursday, according to the education board sources. It is learned that a decision may be taken about the exam on this day.

The meeting will be held at the conference room of the Dhaka Education Board at 2 pm on Thursday.  The meeting chaired by the Inter-Education Coordination Sub-Committee President and Chairman of the Dhaka Board of Education Professor Dr. Ziaul chairmen will be participated by all 11 education. The meeting will discuss how the HSC examination will be held.

In this regard, the Chairman of the Rajshahi Board of Education Professor Mokbul Hossain said, the board chairmen will sit on the admission of HSC, XI, and the start of classes. There will be specific proposals. The final decision will be taken after sending it to the Ministry of Education.

He said the HSC examination schedule will be announced at least 15 days after the opening of the educational institution. This will give everyone, including the examinees, time to prepare. It is certain that if the educational institution is not opened, the new schedule of HSC and equivalent will not be announced.

Cumilla Board of Education Chairman Md. Abdus Salam said the issue of HSC and equivalent examinations is on the agenda of the meeting.

Due to Corona, the government has announced holidays in all educational institutions of the country from March 16 to October 3. However, it is still uncertain when the educational institution will be unlocked.

In this regard, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said that the concerned ministries will take a decision on resuming schools, colleges, universities and other educational institutions. They can decide to open it only when they feel like it.
