Former home minister Sahara Khatun dies

Former Home Minister and Awami League presidium member Advocate Sahara Khatun passed away at the age of 77 at a hospital in Bangkok, Thailand on Thursday night.
Sahara Khatun’s personal assistant Mojibur Rahman confirmed the matter. He said Sahara Khatun passed away at 11:25 pm at Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok.
Earlier, she was taken to Thailand’s capital Bangkok for advanced treatment by an air ambulance on Monday.
On June 2, Sahara Khatun was admitted to the United Hospital, Dhaka with various ailments including fever and allergies. She was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of United Hospital as her condition deteriorated on June 19.
When her condition improved, she was transferred from ICU to HDU (High Dependency Unit) on June 22 at noon. Later, June 26 morning, when her physical condition deteriorated, she was taken to the ICU again.
