Former Marseille boss Pape Diouf dies of coronavirus

The whole world is fighting with coronavirus as over 43 thousands people died of the virus. The former president of Real Madrid died a few days ago. Former Marseille’s president, Pape Diouf, has died aged 68, after contracting the new coronavirus, football club and a family source announced on Tuesday.

The Senegal-national Pape Diouf was admitted to a Dakar hospital on Tuesday morning after contacting the coronavirus. Where he died while under going treatment.

Diouf was also a journalist and football agent before taking over at the Stade Velodrome. He also served as the president of Marseille from 2005 to 2009.

During his tenure, Marseille was twice runner-up in the French League One. Marseille also played in the French Cup final twice. Marseille, however, had the taste of becoming a league champion the next year after his departure.
