Former Japanese Deputy PM highly praises Sheikh Hasina

Former Deputy Prime Minister of Japan Taro Aso has lauded the policies and strategies formulated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the economic liberalization of the people of Bangladesh. 

He made this commendation recently when Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Shahabuddin Ahmed paid a courtesy call on Taro Aso at his office. At this time, he mentioned the existing close relations between the two countries

In the meeting, Ambassador Shahabuddin Ahmed exchanged greetings with Aso and sought his cooperation during his tenure. He also thanked the Government of Japan for its friendly cooperation in the development of Bangladesh. 

At that time, the envoy expressed hope that the cooperation between the two countries would further improve.  

The meeting also discussed various issues related to the interests of the two countries, including increasing Japanese cooperation in the socio-economic and infrastructural development of Bangladesh, expansion of investment and trade, and prevention of the coronavirus pandemic. 

Taro Aso thanked Bangladesh for its generosity in sheltering to more than one million Rohingya people and assured of Japan's utmost efforts to solve the crisis. 

Bangladesh is now on the highway of development under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Shahabuddin Ahmed said, adding that at present the country has a beautiful environment of political stability and investment. He also informed that the government was providing various facilities to foreign investors. 

Embassy minister Md Ziaul Abedin and Commercial Councilor Dr Ariful Haque were present at that time.
