Former BTV Director-General dies of COVID-19

Former Director-General of BTV and freedom fighter Dr Md Wazed Ali Khan, one of the organizers of the liberation war, has died from coronavirus. (Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un)
He passed away at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMU) in Dhaka on Monday afternoon. He was 72.
His wife Rehana Begum is also undergoing treatment at the hospital after being diagnosed with coronavirus.
Md Liaquat Ali Khan, brother of Dr Wazed Ali Khan and senior teacher of English department of Mirzapur SK Pilot Model Government High School, confirmed the information.
It has been reported that Dr Md Wazed Ali Khan is the son of Md Azmat Ali Khan of Bhaora Khanpara village in Bhaora UP, Mirzapur Upazila of Tangail.
Dr Wazed was admitted to the hospital with coronavirus symptoms on September 20 and then tested positive for COVID-19.
His namaz-e-Janaza was held at Bhaora School and College ground in Mirzapur Upazila and then was buried with state honours at the family graveyard in Bhaora after Isha prayer on Monday.
