Former BCB director MA Gafur dies of Corona

Former director of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and former general secretary of Rangpur District Sports Association MA Gafur has died of coronavirus. He was 76.

He died at Rangpur Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospital on Friday morning. MA Gafur was buried at Nurpur Bara graveyard following Janaza at Tentultala Jame Mosque in the city after Juma.

The caretaker of the hospital SM Nurun Nabi confirmed the matter and said that MA Gafur was admitted to the hospital several days ago after contracting corona.

Former footballer and sports organizer MA Gafur was the president of the Rangpur Divisional Dealers Association of the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB).

MA Gafur was admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital on April 2. On April 5, he was diagnosed with coronavirus. He was admitted to Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospital on the same day where he died on Friday.

Former BCB director MA Gafur came to Rangpur from Cumilla's Chauddagram upazila in the sixties and settled in the Karanjai Road Newsenpara area of ​​the city. He is survived by his wife and two children.
