Flower seller Zinnia abduction: Lopa sent to jail

Nur Nazma Akhter Lopa Talukder, who was arrested in connection with the abduction of flower seller Zinnia (9) from Dhaka University’s TSC area, has been sent to jail.
After a two-day remand, Lopa was produced before the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court on September 11. The investigation officer of the case Ramna zonal team sub-inspector Md. Shahjahan Mia requested to keep Lopa in jail till the end of the investigation.
On the other hand, her lawyer applied for bail. After hearing both the parties, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury rejected her bail application and ordered to send her to jail.
Earlier, on September 8, police produced Lopa in the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court. Police requested to remand her for seven days for proper investigation of the case filed at Shahbagh Police Station in connection with the abduction. Following the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nivana Khair Jessey granted her a two-day remand. On the other hand, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ilias Mia handed over Zinnia to her mother.
On September 7, the Ramna Division of the Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) rescued Zinnia in a raid in the Amtala area of Fatulla Police Station in Narayanganj. DB arrested a woman named Nur Nazma Akhter Lopa Talukder (42) in the incident.
DB Joint Commissioner of Police Md. Mahbub Alam said that Lopa Talukdar kidnapped Zinnia by showing various temptations for ‘malicious purpose’.
