Fizz’s four help Ctg’s colossal win by destroying Khulna

Gazi Group Chattogram and Gemcon Khulna faced each other in the 5th match of the first edition of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup on Saturday. Chattogram bagged a huge victory over Khulna for 9 wickets by the outstanding performance in bat and ball in both divisions.
Gazi Group Chattogram, in their 1st match, bowled out Dhaka for 88 runs. Now, they bowled out Khulna in fewer runs compared to Dhaka. Mahmudullah Riyad’s team was all out for 86 runs by Mohammad Mithun’s team.
Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar came down to chase the run for Chattogram. The 73-run partnership between the two ensured the victory of Mithun’s team.
Although Soumya, scored 26 runs, went to the dressing room in Mahmudullah’s over, Liton picked up the fifty and unbeaten for 52 runs and left the field after ensuring the victory against Khulna.
Earlier, Chattogram captain Mohammad Mithun decided to field first after winning the toss at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital. This was the 3rd match for Gemcon Khulna in the current edition. On the other hand, Gazi Group Chattogram played their 2nd match.
Chattogram crushed Mahmudullah’s team from the beginning. Khulna lost Anamul Haque in the first over. Shakib, Mahmudullah also could not get out of the circle of batting failure. They lost the first three wickets for 27 runs.
Imrul Kayes and Zahurul Haque tried to handle the disaster but did not succeed. Kayes made the highest 21 for the team while Zahurul scored 14 and Ariful 15 runs. Shamim Patwari scored 11 runs. Besides, no one else could run in double digits.
Khulna played till 17.5 overs. Mustafizur Rahman has played a key role in tying the team to a few runs. He has taken four wickets alone. Besides, Nahidul Islam and Taizul Islam have taken two wickets each.
Khulna has risen to the top of the points table by winning both matches. On the other hand, Chattogram has one win in three matches and placed three in the point table.
