First five in country to receive COVID vaccine

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the Covid-19 vaccination rollout virtually at Kurmitola General Hospital (KGH) in the capital while Runu Beronica Costa, a senior nurse of KGH, became the first people in Bangladesh to receive the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine on Wednesday.
Later, Medicine Consultant Dr Ahmed Lutfar Mobin received the vaccine as a first physician, and then Additional Director General (Administration) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof. Dr Nasima Sultana, Member of Traffic Police Didarul Islam and Brigadier General Imran Hamid of Bangladesh Army.
Senior staff nurses Runa Akhter and Dipali Yasmin of KGH were present as vaccinators.
