First coach of Metrorail leaves Japan for Dhaka

The first coach of the most awaited Metrorail has left Kobe port of Japan for Bangladesh by ship.
It is scheduled to reach Dhaka by the end of April. The train is being brought from Uttara to Motijheel for metro rail.
MAN Siddique, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company (DMTC) confirmed that the coach left the port at 6pm local time (3pm Bangladesh time) on Thursday.
He told the media that Japan is making 24 sets of trains for the Metrorail project. Each set of train has engines on both sides and four coaches in between.
The trains were built by the Kawasaki-Mitsubishi construction company in Japan. Each train cost Tk 3,208.42 crore. With the addition of customs and VAT, the price of each train will reach Tk 4,257.34 crore till it reaches Dhaka.
